Connect at UK Stroke Forum Conference 2006
04 January 2007
The UK Stroke Forum Conference took place on 7th and 8th December 2006. Over 1200 delegates attended and Connect's Chief Executive Sally Byng was a key note speaker and chaired a parallel session called "Long-term support in the community: Whose responsibility?"

Sally Byng said " Connect was delighted to take part in this landmark conference. It is the first time all the professional groups and voluntary sector organisations working in stroke care have all come together. 1200 people met together at Harrogate for two days of talks about all aspects of stroke care. There was a really strong sense of energy and enthusiasm, and a feeling that a new opportunity exists now for really raising the profile of stroke - to the benefit of everyone at risk of, or who has had experience of, stroke".
Connect also had a stand at the conference where delegates could view and purchase publications and find out more about Connect's training programme. Visitors to the stand had the chance to enter a competition to guess the number of jelly beans in the jar. See panel on right for the answer and the list of lucky winners.
