Connect's Director of Innovation receives special award

We are delighted to announce that Carole Pound, Director of Innovation at Connect has been appointed a fellow of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

Carole has a wealth of experience as a speech and language therapist in hospitals, rehabilitation and university settings. She has had a particular interest in developing therapies that address the long term communication, identity and lifestyle issues of living with a disability, supporting others to develop communication access and working with people with aphasia to create more inclusive structures and communities.
Carole is a well known author in the field and has co-authored and edited various publications relating to living with aphasia. These include 'Beyond Aphasia', 'Aphasia Inside Out', 'The Aphasia Therapy Files', and the latest edition of the 'Stroke and Aphasia Handbook.'
She has contributed to undergraduate and post-graduate training over many years and regularly presents at conferences throughout the UK and overseas.
As Director of Innovation at Connect, Carole supports and oversees the work of our Innovation projects and is a lead contributor in our training and publication programme.
Carole received her award in Edinburgh in September.
