Connect Volunteers: Inclusion Campaign

This project explores volunteering opportunities for people with aphasia

The aim is to support people with aphasia to take up volunteering opportunities. The project seeks to raise awareness of aphasia amongst community volunteering organisations.

During the period 2006 -2007 the focus of the project is on raising awareness of volunteering opportunities at Connect for communication supporters from black and minority ethnic (BME) backgrounds and recruiting people with aphasia from BME backgrounds to join the Access to Volunteering Group.

This project has developed two new publications How to volunteer (for people with aphasia) and Volunteering and aphasia (for organisations recruiting people with aphasia as volunteers)
