Conversation Partners

A conversation partner scheme is a system of supporting isolated people with aphasia in their own homes, by training volunteers without aphasia to offer 'supported conversation'. The volunteers visit people with aphasia at home offering conversation and companionship. This is a way for health care workers to offer a cost-effective support service to people with aphasia for whom conventional therapy has ended or who are unable to access out-patient services.

Connect have supported numerous services around the UK and Ireland to offer this scheme. Find out more in our Reaching Out Project.

We run a Conversation partner scheme in London. For more details contact Alex Stirling on 020 7367 0863 or email [email protected]
