Befriending Scheme

Befriending scheme manual

Our Befriending scheme is designed to be peer-led; an experienced person with aphasia visits another person with aphasia offering support, advice and encouragement.

“My befriender saved my life. I was doing nothing. I couldn’t see a future. I can now!”

Our comprehensive package includes

A guide that covers everything you need to set up a Befriending scheme in your area. Including:

  • Recruitment and training of volunteers
  • Matching and introducing Befriending partners
  • Evaluating the scheme
  • A CD with the resources you need for all stages of the process.
