Fantastic 50 Fundraising Challenge
In June 2011 Connect launched the Fantastic 50 fundraising challenge, asking 50 people to raise £500 for Connect. It has received an amazing response!
Our supporters have committed to all kinds of weird and wonderful challenges and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who has signed up.
We are close to our target of 50 pledges, but you still have the chance to be fantastic for Connect!
Remember, this is a really great chance to spread the word about aphasia and show your support for Connect.
So far our fantastic fundraisers have shown that there is a challenge for everyone - below is just a flavour of what they have been up to.
So have a glance and then fill in our Fantastic 50 pledge form to get started...
The team at the Stroke Improvement Programme have been raising money through the year. They held and a ‘Coffee, cake and cocktails’ afternoon in the office, and Sarah Gillham (left) ran the Paddock Woods half marathon.
Peter Baker has aphasia and completed a walk around the lake in Oakmere Park in Potters Bar. Not content with this, Peter is now gearing up for a poetry recital in the near future.
Teresa Regan walked across the Bridges of London for Connect. The 11 mile journey from Putney to Tower Bridge took over 5 hours, and Teresa was joined by various friends and family along the way.
Kira Hartup, whose dad Gerald is a regular Connect visitor, completed the Run to the Beat Half Marathon in September, knocking 20 minutes off her personal best!
Sara Shear-Hall held an 80s aerobics class at work and ran the Milton Keynes Half Marathon (in the wind, rain and snow...) for Connect.
Vojin and Bojana Sljivic are regulars at Connect's London Centre, and Vojin has kindly asked friends and family to donate to Connect in celebration of his 80th birthday. Thanks Vojin and many happy returns!
Thanks to everyone
This is just a selection, and huge thanks are due to everybody who has pledged so far.
For those who haven’t, remember, Connect will support you every step of the way, whatever your challenge. Our fundraising pack is crammed full of more ideas.
